Spotlight: Carrie Weaver, a Leadership Development Executive, on Finding Trust in Creative Ideas

I’m excited to celebrate one of my purpose coaching clients, Carrie Weaver, on her journey of living and expressing her soul’s purpose!

We spotlight one of my purpose coaching clients, Carrie Weaver!

Congratulations to her for publishing her new book, Mineral Spirits, that combines different facets of who she is — artist, storyteller, geologist, and coach!

I had heard of Carrie when she worked at the same organization I did, many years ago, when she was a senior HR executive. After following some intuitive nudges, I reached out to her and we connected on our respective career and spiritual journeys. Over the past year, it has been such an honor for me to support her path to creatively express her purpose throughout all facets of her life.

I’ve asked Carrie (who has a background as a geologist too!) a series of questions to help us get a glimpse into who she is, what she learned through our intuitive work together, and what she is proud of, including recently publishing a book that she beautifully illustrated and wrote.

I hope you will find her story inspiring!

1. How would you describe yourself in a few sentences (career, what you are passionate about, etc)?
I’m an executive coach and leadership development practitioner by trade, and an artist by calling. My work centers on helping individuals and teams grow into more effective, self-aware versions of themselves. I’m equally passionate about creativity—especially watercolor—and exploring the intersection between inner growth and external expression.

2. What are you working on right now that you are proud of?
I recently created and published Mineral Spirits, an art book that blends original watercolor illustrations of minerals with both scientific details and playful interpretations of their energetic qualities. It was a deeply personal project that required both discipline and trust in my creative voice.

3. What from your purpose reading and coaching with Julie inspired you? How has it impacted you?
Julie helped me reconnect with the idea that purpose isn’t something to chase—it’s something to remember and embody. Her guidance gave me permission to take my creative work seriously and to move forward without overanalyzing every step. That shift from proving to trusting was everything.

4. What life lesson did you learn that you'd like to share with others?
You don’t need full clarity to begin. In fact, clarity often comes because you start. Waiting for certainty is just fear in a more socially acceptable outfit.

5. If you could make a movie or documentary, what would it be about?
I’d create a documentary exploring the hidden inner lives of ordinary yet high-performing professionals and the tension between competence and authenticity, and what it really takes to evolve beyond ego into something more grounded and expansive.

6. What advice would you like to tell your younger self?
Pay attention to what gives you joy. Try lots of interesting things and fail over and over. Stop trying to get it “right” and start paying attention to what feels true. You’ll waste less time and enjoy the process a lot more.

7. What are your dreams that have yet to be explored or expressed?
I’d love to expand Mineral Spirits into a broader creative brand with additional volumes and experiential workshops, and then, obviously, receive a call from Pixar to turn the concept into an animated film!

8. How do you access your intuition? Through stillness, creative practice, and paying attention to subtle signals in nature. The universe is always communicating with me. I'll frequently "receive" number signs that are some combination of my birthday, and I know it's the universe's way of saying, "you're on the right track, and I'm right here with you." For me, intuition spoke softly at first until I realized I am the creator. Now I both listen and take bold action.

9. What activities or moments make you feel happy?
Hiking in nature, painting, meaningful conversations with wonderful people, and time with animals, especially my rescued Chihuahua, Molly.

10. If you suddenly had unlimited funds, what would you do with the money?
First, I'd finish my Berkeley fixer-upper with gorgeous, natural materials. Then, I’d invest in creative and educational spaces - places where people can explore both personal development and artistic expression.

11. What do you think makes a good leader?
Love via self-awareness, emotional steadiness, and the ability to balance conviction with humility. Great leaders aren’t the ones who need to be right. They’re the ones committed to getting it right by expressing genuine love for the work and their people.

12. Who do you admire and why?
I admire people who are both expertly competent and deeply grounded. Those who continue to evolve, stay curious, and don’t lose their humanity in the process. One of my professors at UC Berkeley's Interior Architecture program, Prof Hay, comes to mind. He is a world-class architect with buildings around the world, including at Disney, and yet he is a spiritual leader. He is truly committed to bridging his wisdom into the minds and hearts of his students. He's a person I've met in the last five years, where I was like, wow. He's a genius.

13. Is there anything else you'd like to share with others?
Creative expression isn’t a luxury; it’s a way of accessing parts of the divine in ourselves that logic alone can’t reach. True art can only come from you, and it's perfect every time because YOU made it from the stardust you are. There’s real value in making space for it. Find yourself and your art will find you.

 14. What links or social media handles would you like to share?

15. Would you recommend Julie's readings and coaching to others? Why?
Yes, absolutely. Julie can offer clarity without imposing direction. Her unique approach helps you access your own knowing rather than relying on external answers, which makes the impact both meaningful and lasting.
